For the past several years, young adults have been gathering on Tuesday evenings to spend time together as a community. They call themselves YAG – the Young Adults Gathering. They have dinner together, connect as a community, and grow in relationship with God. Now this ministry is expanding.
Over the last several months a team has been brainstorming exactly what this new expanded community should look like. We’ve sensed the need to further connect as a young adult community, but we also desire to remain integrated in the whole church, as one part of many generations.
Launched April 19, our first new opportunity for community among young adults is a Sunday evening dinner. While welcome to attend any of our five services, we encourage young adults (post-high school -35 year olds) to worship together during the 6:00 pm service and connect together afterward over a casual meal and open conversation. This will happen every Sunday evening in the Narthex. In addition to this time, Tuesday night YAG will continue, accompanied by expanded small group opportunities, special events, retreats, service opportunities, and mission trips for and by young adults, all of which will be alongside current opportunities to engage in the life, worship, and mission of FPCB. Also, initial plans are in the works for a monthly event focused on worship, the arts, prayer, and stories from the real stuff of life.

FPCB has a vision for being a place for young adults to connect deeply with God and each other, to become who God designed them to be, and to get more drawn in to what God wants to do through and with them in the world.
